Partnerships in Haiti:

  • IHDI (Institut Haitien de Developpement Integral) & IDDI (Instituto Dominicano de Desarollo Integral), associations working on the ground for many years, will promote colaboratively with LAC-CORE sustainable agriculture and energy independence by supproting community-based projects in rtibonite watershed between the cities of Cabaret and La Chapelle with the help of Franz Stuppard, Congressional Relations, Advisor of Haiti.
  • Trees for the Future (TFF) working with its team in Haiti for a long time will develop reforestation and agroforestry plans based on the "Forest Garden Concept" with voluntary participation of communities.
  • World Vision. Funds raised by LAC-CORE for World Vision to support their operations in Haiti. To the extent reasonable, these funds will support operations identified by LAC-CORE
  • Earth Day and Arbor Day will support projects identified by LAC-CORE as part of their routine and special projects.
  • Climate Initiative will support projects designed to sequester CO2 by offering their expertise.
  • Solar Electric Light Fund is providing solar photovoltaic cells to provide electricity to 10 health clinics in Haiti as their initial contribution to the “Rebirth of Haiti” through renewable energy. FTL Solar is pursuing a similar goal. It is LAC-CORE’s intent to raise funds to greatly expand this effort, particularly in communities to be assisted by TFF and IDHI.
  • LAC-CORE is exploring a possible partnership with Climate Prosperity Enterprise Solutions and a concrete producer in Haiti to produce substantial concrete home with solar collectors as part of the roof structure so that the house and the community become a power plant.
  • To the extent funding becomes available, LAC-CORE will partner with many other organizations and businesses to achieve the goal of rebirthing Haiti through renewable energy and energy efficiency with an initial focus on land allocation and restoration, soil vitalization, better use of water, and the planting and tending community-based “Forest Gardens” to encourage the permanent relocation of Haitian families to rural areas. The focus here is to launch the process to make Haiti food and energy self sufficient. Again, Trees for the Future and IHDI will provide needed services for these communities. LAC-CORE will be supporting these efforts.
  • LAC-CORE will be working closely with the Haitian Diaspora in New York City, Washington DC and Miami to gain their support and to ensure that the best interest of Haiti and Haitian are always the focus of LAC-CORE’s effort’s in Haiti.
